CEO year-end message, on behalf of Keppel Data Centres
Dear friends and partners,
What a year it has been for all of us!
COVID-19 has impacted the health and well-being of numerous individuals, disrupted economies, and transformed modern life. In such unprecedented times, I am proud of the commitment, resilience, and resourcefulness of the Keppel Data Centres team. Our employees at all levels have been working tirelessly to ensure seamless operations with quality service and the safe progress of our projects under construction.
Our data centres remain 100% operational
With information flow and communication becoming increasingly critical, I am pleased to report that our data centres remain 100 percent operational. We continue to be ready to deliver quality service while safeguarding our people, partners, operations, and facilities. We are vigilant in monitoring ongoing COVID-19 developments in the markets in which we operate, and actively refine precautionary measures in line with guidelines from global and local public health authorities.
We are making good progress on our projects under construction
Notwithstanding the challenging global climate, Keppel Data Centres continues to pursue opportunities to expand our operations worldwide to better serve our customers. In July, we announced our first project in mainland China. The project is located in Tonghu Smart City in Huizhou and is currently under construction. In addition, we are making good progress on the IndoKeppel Data 1 development, in Bogor, Indonesia, and are on track to launch the development in 2021.
We are your trusted partner for a sustainable digital future
At the same time, we continue to make good on our commitment to be the Trusted Partner for a Sustainable Digital Future. In line with Keppel’s Vision 2030, which places sustainability at the heart of its strategy, we have been studying greener data centre solutions so that growing needs of the digital economy can be met in a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly manner.
To further that end, we are working with the Keppel-eco-system of companies and other industry partners to explore the development of floating data centres, LNG and hydrogen infrastructure for power generation and cooling, as well as carbon capture technologies. We continue to innovate and invest in research to drive more sustainable solutions for the industry.
On this note, I would like to thank all our stakeholders for your invaluable partnership. Be assured that Keppel Data Centres is ever ready to face the challenges of tomorrow with you.
With Christmas and New Year round the corner, I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones good health and happiness.
Best wishes,
Wong Wai Meng
