COVID-19 | Our Response
Dear Customers,
Safety is one of Keppel’s core values. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers, employees and partners while minimising disruption to business operations.
The data centres we manage remain 100 percent operational during this period where information flow and communication are ever more critical. We are monitoring the COVID-19 developments closely, and continue to enhance our business continuity measures, according to the guidelines of global and local authorities and public health institutions in the regions where we operate.
The current measures we are taking do not affect our ability to deliver quality services to you. We will proactively keep you informed if we anticipate any potential impact to your personnel or operations within our facilities.
We would like to share some of the measures that we are taking to safeguard our stakeholders, operations and facilities.
Health and Hygiene Measures at our Data Centres
We are actively monitoring the health situation at our facilities and taking the necessary precautions for each site. We have stepped up hygiene measures in our data centres, including increased frequency of cleaning and the provision of hand sanitisers. We have also established staggered shifts for our onsite teams to ensure business continuity for data centre operations.
Protocols for Employees
We have put in place split teams, work from home arrangements and alternative work sites. All Keppel Data Centres’ employees are required to follow travel advisories and all non-essential business travel has been deferred. We continue to remind all employees to practise social responsibility and good hygiene habits.
Access to our Facilities
Visitors and service providers will only be allowed entry based on the advisory guidelines and quarantine restrictions of local authorities. We encourage all visitors to consider alternative forms of communication and limit their in-person visits to Keppel Data Centres’ facilities.
Should the COVID-19 situation continue to escalate, we may take further steps to restrict visitor access to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and employees.
Business Continuity Plans
Keppel Data Centres has activated protocols based on our Business Continuity Plans as well as guidelines communicated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other global and local public health authorities.
Our BCP measures for the data centres include:
- Designated holding areas and quarantine rooms in all data centre facilities.
- Pre-designated routes to evacuate persons suspected of COVID-19 from the data centre facilities for medical attention. The pre-designated route will minimise exposure to other individuals at the facilities.
- Protocols to disinfect and sanitise affected areas once a person suspected of COVID-19 has been evacuated from a facility. Protective gears have been disseminated to our facilities.
- Reorganise resources to ensure uninterrupted operations of Keppel DC Command Centres 24x7 in the event of heightened emergency.
“We are working round-the-clock to protect our stakeholders’ well-being and safeguard their businesses. During this challenging period, Keppel Data Centres stands ever ready to support our customers’ needs.”
Best Regards,
Wong Wai Meng (Mr)
