Power Configuration

Main incoming power supply to our data centres comes from dual power feeds that are channeled to IT infrastructure and M&E assets. This highly resilient and reliable 2N power design builds in redundancies to ensure the uninterrupted operations of our customers’ mission critical facilities.

Our customers can be assured of an instantaneous and continuous power supply in any event of outage from local power grids. The system is concurrently maintainable, highly efficient, and features an environmentally friendly design. Cooling System

Keppel Data Centres has robust hardware and associated software to monitor and control elements such as temperature and humidity of our data centres. The effective cooling system maintains an optimum environment for your servers and mission critical systems to work efficiently.

Keppel Data Centres uses a highly efficient chilled water system based on a resilient 2N design. Dedicated Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units provide more precise control of environmental factors within our data centres and achieve greater energy savings compared to typical air conditioning systems and direct cooling systems that use refrigerants. Furthermore, the adoption of hot and cold aisle design, cold aisle containment for high density cooling requirements and directional perforated floor tiles to direct cool air into racks are key features in the design of our data centres.

Specially angled chilled water piping also features as part of the infrastructure design, reducing the resistance of the chilled water flow and improving the overall efficiency of the building’s Power Usage Effectiveness (‘PUE’).

Security

All of our data centres assets in Singapore are in strict compliance with the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA) guidelines.

When it comes to physical security, we spare no effort to protect our clients’ key infrastructure. Keppel Data Centres implements multi-layered security systems and controls at our data centres to deter internal and external sabotage. A wide array of security equipment and robust access control measures are installed at each facility includes:

  • Tightly controlled physical entry into the premises and data centre suites that are restricted to authorised personnel only. This is done via an access control system that regulates entry through individually programmed access cards, pin-code access or fingerprint scanner.
  • An added layer of security and assurance for customers such as mantraps and full-height turnstiles that ensure single-person entry only.
  • Round-the-clock surveillance CCTVs that cover every corner of our facilities and security guards conduct regular patrols.
  • Concertina wire, anti-climb fencing and motorized bi-foldable gates with crash barriers around the perimeter of our data centres that provide additional deterrence against attack or sabotage.

Maintaining the integrity of customers’ equipment in the unlikely event of a fire is of utmost importance to us. On top of fire extinguishers and manual fire suppression devices, our data centres employ sensitive fire detection and protection systems such as the FM200, Pre-Action Sprinkler and Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (“VESDA”). Unlike conventional water sprinklers, inert gases such as FM200 will extinguish any fire without causing electrical damage to critical computing and network equipment.
